Identifying the Leisure Constraints and Negotiation Efforts of Chinese Students at VIU

The Master of Arts in Sustainable Leisure Management, in conjunction with our World Leisure Centre of Excellence, is pleased to introduce Noah Du, Graduate Student in progress, who will be presenting his research and thesis.
This research aimed to explore VIU Chinese students’ leisure constraints in the leisure landscape of Nanaimo. This research collected a wealth of qualitative data through face-to-face semi-structured interviews and analyzed data through the inductive thematic analysis approach. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that the university can create the partner system and add channels or leisure information distribution, so as to promote the leisure participation of VIU Chinese students.
