The University of Northern Iowa’s Department of Health, Recreation, and Community Services in the College of Education seeks applications for an Associate/Full Professor in Nonprofit and Youth Leadership Studies, starting August 2021. This position will occupy the R. J. McElroy Professorship of Nonprofit and Youth Leadership Studies. The R.J McElroy Professorship is an endowed position focusing on issues and concerns related to nonprofits and youth and including teaching, research and service in the areas of social policy, organizational leadership/management, philanthropy, and behavioral and developmental foundations related to youth.
The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree. Required qualifications include established record of research and scholarship; successful teaching experience at the university level, including the supervision of theses and/or dissertations; knowledge/experience in the nonprofit and youth service sectors; and record of professional, university and community service. Evidence of significant community outreach and engagement with diverse stakeholders as reflected in scholarly and service endeavors also required. Demonstrated experience in seeking extramural funding including foundation funding required.
