Sea Grant Student Travel Award

Through the generous support of the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the organizing committee of The International Congress on Coastal and Marine Tourism (CMT) is pleased to announce a Student Travel Award.  This competitive award will support undergraduate and graduate student participation at CMT 2015, and is open to any student whose abstract is approved through the conference's on-line submission system.  Ten awards are available, and each award of $750 will be applied to help pay for CMT 2015 registration fees and hotel accommodation at the conference site (Marriott Waikoloa).

Application Details

  • all students are eligible for the award regardless of citizenship (proof of active enrollment required at the time of the award)
  • eligible abstracts must be submitted prior to the June 15, 2015 deadline via the CMT 2015 on-line abstract submission system
  • you must indicate that you wish to be considered for a Student Travel Award on the abstract submission form
  • both papers and posters are eligible for a travel award, but we encourage students to present papers at the conference
  • the student must be the lead author of the paper or poster abstract, and must be the lead presenter of the paper or poster at the conference
  • evaluation of submissions will be based on uniqueness and innovativeness of the topic, scientific rigor of the research, and quality of writing as demonstrated in the submitted abstract
  • award winners will be informed by July 1, 2015
