Canadian Hospitality Foundation Hospitality Management Scholarship

1 award, $2,500; Available to students enrolled in first or second year of the Hospitality Management program, for professional promise, leadership, scholastic ability and work experience. Hospitality Co-op Student of the Year Award

1 award, $250 awarded to the Hospitality Management student who has completed a cooperative education work term and performed beyond expectations. This student has set an example that encourages employers to hire other co-op students, has had a positive effect on the co-op employer by improving the work or service,by increasing productivity, cost innovation or staff morale.

Dale Francis Memorial Awards

2 awards, $800 each; One award available to students graduating from the Hospitality Management diploma program, and one award available to 2nd year diploma students who will be continuing into 3rd year of the Bachelor of Hospitality degree program. Selection based on motivation, participation, financial need, and recommendation of Hospitality department. No application necessary. Recipients selected in April, with funds issued as follows: graduating students, funds will be issued in April; continuing students, funds will be awarded as a tuition credit for the fall semester.

Henry Wong Rotary Award

1 award, $500; Available to Hospitality Management students demonstrating leadership and involvement in the community. Financial need will be considered. Apply to Financial Aid and Awards office by January 15. Funds issued in March.

Island Professional Event Network Recognition Award

1 award, $1,000; Available to returning students in the Hospitality Management or Tourism Management programs. Selection based on GPA, with preference to students who are involved in the community with event planning and/or volunteering. Apply to Financial Aid and Awards office by April 30. Funds awarded as a tuition credit for the fall semester.

Nanaimo Marine Pavilion Scholarships

4 awards, $500 each; For students continuing from first to second year in Recreation and Tourism, Hospitality Management, Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Resource Management programs, based on GPA. No application necessary. Recipient selected in April, with funds awarded as a tuition credit for the fall semester.
