VIU Grad Student Laurel Sliskovic's presentation in Turkey

We are proud to highlight Laurel's presentation at the 6th World Conference for Graduate Research in Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure & 2nd Interdisciplinary Tourism Research Conference, which was held 24 – 29 April 2012 in Fethiye, Turkey. Because the conference took place prior to her data collection, she focused on presenting concepts, methods, and kmb plan. Her topic was local Vancouver Island tourism (LOVIT) participation and it's relationship to quality of life for residents. She received some great feedback and suggestions from people from all around the world on how to improve her research. She also had a woman from Turkey ask if she was trying to recruit immigrants to Vancouver Island, as the photos she used in her presentation made her want to move there! She thoroughly enjoyed her experience and had the opportunity to meet, and connect, with a very diverse group of individuals (over 50 countries were represented!).
