The second cohort of SLM students just returned from a field trip to Whistler's Centre for Sustainability (Students departed Nanaimo early Thursday morning, on an ferry destined for West Vancouver.

The World Leisure Center would like to invite individuals to apply for a visiting scholar position for the 2013-14 academic year. Visiting scholars are an important asset for the Center and are involved in co- teaching one of the graduate courses in the Master of Arts in Sustainable Leisure Management degree at VIU. While here, we also look for ways to engage our scholars in giving public lectures, engaging in dialogue with faculty on potential research or in forming links with industry, communities or government.

Described as "a visionary thinker with a rare intellect," Sinek teaches leaders and organizations how to inspire people. With a bold goal to help build a world in which the vast majority of people go home everyday feeling fulfilled by their work, Sinek is leading a movement to inspire people to do the things that inspire them.
