Valedictorian Aboh Ekoja spoke to the graduating class about his journey as a VIU student, highlighting a deep respect for their unceded traditional territory and honouring the grace and sacrifice of the Snuneymuxw people. He said,
When I left Nigeria for Canada to begin this MBA journey, I carried a heart full of dreams and a head full of questions. Can I start over? Will I fit in? Will anyone understand my story?
Throughout this journey, one powerful truth became clear: that nobody builds a dream alone.
I realized that dreams grow best when watered by connections with people who push, support and believe in us.
When the road feels long, remember that you do not have to travel alone.
