The 16th World Leisure Hybrid Congress – Leisure Makes Life Better – aims to provide the space to learn from leading experts in the leisure field and network. The 16th World Leisure Congress will be hosted in a hybrid modefrom April 15th to 21st, 2021, giving the opportunity for a face-to-face and an online experience, no matter where you are.

The 16th World Leisure Congress to be held in Pinggu-Beijing from April 15-21, 2021 will have a virtual component to include participants who will not be able to travel to China due to the many travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract Submission deadline extended until Friday, 30th October 2020.

16th World Leisure Congress postponed due to Covid-19

Given these unprecedented circumstances, a joint decision has been taken by WLO and People’s Government of Beijing Municipality of the 16th World Leisure Congress in Pinggu-Beijing, to postpone the event,  which was initially scheduled to take place from October 17 to 23 October this year.

The new dates to celebrate the 16th World Leisure Congress are April 15-21, 2021.

2020 Beijing - Pinggu World Leisure Congress “Leisure Makes Life Better” - Call for Abstracts

The 16th World Leisure Congress will be held in Pinggu, Beijing, from the 17th. to 23rd. October 2020 hosted by the Beijing City Government and co-organized by World Leisure Organization (WLO), Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism and the Pinggu District Government.
The Congress, themed “Leisure Makes Life Better", aims to promote the concept of leisure for all and throughout the whole year. Located in Jinhaihu Town, the main venue consists of the convention and exhibition center, supporting facilities, and a zone for outdoor activities, among other facilities.

Hi everyone, 

My name is Marc Sorrie and I am a grad student in Sustainable Leisure Management at VIU.

Before I attend the World Leisure Congress in Rimini, Italy I am travelling to a few locations in Europe to visit some friends. One of those visits is to Chur, Switzerland to visit a previous WLCE Visiting Scholar Dr. Tobias Luthe. Tobias' Bio Tobias is a Professor of Sustainability at University of Applied Sciences in Chur. HTW Chur

2012 World Leisure Congress - Rimini, Italy

Vancouver Island University and The World Leisure Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Leisure Management intend to have a strong presence at the years World Leisure Congress. This presence will be made up of faculty and students alike in a presenting and networking role. With the introduction of the new M.A Sustainable Leisure Management program and a strong undergraduate program, there are many VIU students applying to present at this years congress. We will see you all in Italy!
