Stacie Chappell is Associate Dean, Faculty of Management Graduate Programs at Vancouver Island University (VIU). Prior to joining VIU in September 2019, Stacie was a tenured professor of leadership at Western New England University. She began her career as an Organizational Development Consultant at the University of British Columbia and then later the University of Western Australia (UWA). Stacie began her academic career at UWA where she was a full-time lecturer while undertaking her Ph.D.; her thesis explored the relationship between leadership effectiveness and traditional IQ, emotional intelligence and ego-development. While at Stacie was an early adopter of the Giving Voice to Values (GVV) curriculum and worked with colleges to design a required MBA course around these materials.

Stacie has expertise in the areas of experiential learning, leadership, emotional intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. Stacie has designed and taught a range of courses including: organizational behavior, leadership and team skills, business and society, ethics, powerful conversations, leadership in higher education, shadow and leadership. Her research interests range from practice to pedagogy: the efficacy of change implementation, implementation and application of the GVV approach, compassion in organizations, and the classroom as organization. She is the incoming Chair of the Management, Spirituality and Religion interest group of the Academy of Management.
